Chelsea Physic Garden

A delightful garden in the heart of Chelsea. Han Sloane, having married money, travelled the world and brought back the recipe for Hot Chocolate - and became very rich. He then did a canny thing - he bought large parts of Chelsea! Believing in the potential of medicine he leased this garden (3 acres) to the Guild of Apothecaries for £5 (and the rent has never been increased). In the centre of the garden is a statue of the great man. (Extra photo)
