Repetitio est mater studiorum
So, this has been how I'm spending a good part of my days for the last week. A course in the Latin language and a really interesting course in Latin as language and cultural bearer. Unfortunately I missed that the Latin language course started on the first of September and that there are two lectures per week. I'm currently catching up as best I can, but it's a lot of grammar and I have a really short short-term memory (kind of 2-3 seconds when I'm stressed out), so it's a bit difficult to learn. Some of it I remember as a memory from long time ago, but not much. Not really good in tests and stuff when I'm like this... I'm currently contemplating whether I will continue with the language course or drop out and focus only on the other course and writing my paper. I'll take a long walk tomorrow to decide, thinking of pros and cons.
Another totally different thing. You know when you're in a queue in the supermarket and the person in front of you starts a discussion with the cashier? And then the cashier begins to phone her college about the question and the queue is growing behind but the conversation continues and the cashier calls her college again and fiddles with the cash register and keeps talking with the person in front of you. In the queue people starts to move in that restless kind of way and you are wondering how come you got to stand in the queue that took the longest of times just this day. Finally it's your turn and not a minute to soon.
Well, the person holding up the queue was me! I only asked a question I thought I'd get a yes or no answer to, but nooooooo... and I was really embarrassed that it took so long! I tried to abort the cashier's mission, but she didn't budge until she got me an answer. She was really kind, but when the queue of people just grew behind me I just wanted to get out of there.
Well, back to the studies! Repetito est mater studiorum or the mother of studies is repetition.
So, I won't be around here as much until this study mess is sorted.
