Meadow in the sunshine

Largely purples and whites at the moment.  But perhaps you can spot, right in the middle of this picture, a splash of yellow from a solitary evening primrose.  I don't think it was in the "meadow mix", so is presumably self seeded - but very welcome for all that.

I did try to stalk some butterflies and other insects, but there were also horse flies around, and just as I got some common red soldier beetles in my sights, I was bitten by a horse fly, making me jump, and scaring off the wild life!
