Submarine

Back blip!

'Submarine Time Machine' was the name given to a series of performances by the National Theatre of Scotland on the Forth & Clyde Canal this week (i.e. 21-25 June).  It took its inspiration from a story in the 1950's when a several hundred people claim they saw a midget submarine in the Canal. No trace of the submarine was ever found!

The performances, each lasting between 10-15 minutes, were based on local stories - some true, some apocryphal, most somewhere in-between - about life on the Canal during the last century and beyond.

It was fun just to wander along and hear these tales. Unfortunately, there were quite a few heavy rain showers along the way and those 'dampened' the impact somewhat. However, as Sunday afternoon's performances drew to a close, this 'submarine' came sailing along from near Speirs Wharf to Ruchill. Blip sorted!
