Running free
Anyone who knows anyone with a Husky will know this is a rare sight - off the lead out in the big wide world. Pushka has always been lucky in that we've had large fun gardens for her whole life - but a husky's desire to run and hunt means that they really shouldn't be off the lead. Now however, she's happy to trot along, and gave the sheep a very "if only I could be bothered" stare today and wandered past. I wonder if it confuses her to now walk in a place that she knows so well but has always been on a lead, to suddenly be free, to literally have the chord severed. Free to stop and sniff she can take her time, but I've noticed she doesn't like us to be out of sight. At 14 she might, just might, be starting to behave!
There's a pleasure that can't be explained in a simple wander with a four legged friend. We sat in the sun and chatted for a while. Pushka thinks I mostly talk nonsense.
