I spent the entire day cutting back the Rosa rugosa hedge along the village road. I like its scent and I like its protection for the more fragile plants, but it was starting to spread its blooms too far. Now at least we can see both ways when we emerge from our drive. Plus we have a bonfire that is almost 15 feet high!
