Neeltje Jans

Stunning weather for a long day out to Zeeland (where New Zealand is named after). We went to Neeltje Jans to see the Delta Works which is the largest barrier in the world, protecting the low lying land from flooding from the sea.

The Netherlands is more than half below sea level. For everyone's safety, the Delta Works were built to prevent a recurrence of the flood of 1953 that killed over 1800 people many hundred thousand animals and livestock.
