Jaunt Up Sugar Loaf
The last time we went for a walk up to the top of The Sugar Loaf, Abergavenny was a few years ago when there was a bit of snow about and we were slipping and sliding about. It's a bit of a hike up to the trig point at the best of times, but with ice it's treacherous and today it was hard work in the 25c heat!
The blipfoto is a 'proper' selfie of me and Mrs BB at the trig point. I propped it up and used a 10 second timer - none of this camera on a stick rubbish!!
The Sugar Loaf, is a mountain situated 2 miles north-west of Abergavenny in Monmouthshire, Wales. It is the southernmost of the summit peaks of the Black Mountains, with a height of 1,955 feet.
The view from the summit covers the Black Mountains to the north, the Cotswolds the east, as far as the Brecon Beacons including (Pen- y Fan and Corn Du) to the west and the Bristol Channel to the south. On a clear day it is possible to see hills as far north as Shropshire and as far south as Somerset!
It's my wide angle entry titled 'Jaunt' - J from July!
