Splash Point, Seaford

KarenC and I had provisionally planned to visit a National Trust property for a photo day but we decided a sedate lunch would suit us better as I'm still recovering from my big day out on Saturday and Karen has a poorly ankle. On our last visit to Seaford we walked the length of the seafront but we were sensible today driving from the sailing club, where we ate, to Splash Point. Views towards Newhaven were hazy which was a shame as there were plenty of boats to photograph including the ferry to Dieppe.

There was plenty of other subject matter with the brightly coloured beach huts, sunbathers and swimmers. I liked the fish shaped sculptural benches with engraved plaques, mostly in memorial to loved ones. My favourite read Travelled the world happy and free, finally found my home by the sea.

After taking photos and admiring the turquoisey colour of the sea, we sat down for a welcome cold drink while we caught up on each other's news. Look forward to our next trip when hopefully we will both be back on form. Thanks Karen for a lovely day x

Seaford Head was on the news recently after 50 tonnes of chalk fell into the sea from three cliff falls
