Le moulin de Vensac

Out on a cycle ride this afternoon, we came across this impressive old windmill just outside the village of Vensac. It is a 19th century windmill which is still in use today. A thirty minutes tour will reveal the secrets of producing flour the old fashioned way. When there is no wind, as was the situation today, the sails are turned by a tractor coupled to a generator and electric motor. I suspect this feature is not original.
