Have I wasted money?

This is my contribution to BikerBear's Flower Friday.
I decided to take a quick shot of this Clematis using MrsJ's new Sony camera, I have to say I am mightily impressed with the result.
I usually use a full frame DSLR, with a top quality lens, I know the expensive gear will produce top results but the picture above wants some beating in my opinion. The pollen is easily seen on the petals.
