Tintin and Haddock.

This is a bit of a cheat, but I don't really care.

My pal has been in Belgium and emailed me this photo they had taken of a wall that had been painted with a frame from one of the Tintin books.

I think the escape from something awful is meant to be a metaphor, but I'm not sure of what.
