Shadows at the Met
We went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art this afternoon, to meet our friends Marge and Steve and to have dinner with them afterwards. Most interesting was a superb exhibition on China during the Qin and Han dynasties (roughly 200 BC to 200 AD), entitled Age of Empires. It includes over 160 works of all sorts from some 32 institutions in China--most of them have never previously been seen in the West. Most impressive are several over-life-size terracotta army warriors.
Posted next morning--we suddenly lost our internet connection last night.
