Wedding

I have had a lovely day.  I went out at first light, and got some nice photos of the sunrise.  Home for breakfast, then for a walk around town, where I spied extra 1.  Hard to believe that spring is just around the corner.  Home for lunch, then I still had to walk another 2,000 steps, so I walked down to the lake where I got this lovely photo of a bride and groom.  Once again I don't think it is a real wedding, just a photo for the wedding invitation!  Walked over 9,000, so pleased with that.  The promised snow didn't arrive, but as it is the school holidays, hoards of children arrived instead, spilling over with endless energy!

Year 1957  This was my last year at Secondary School.  The sports I played in those days were table tennis and basketball (netball).  I had four happy years, there.

Sputnik 1 was the first artificial Earth satellite.  The Soviet Union launched it on the 4th October 1957.  I can remember we were playing table tennis, and it was due to fly over about 9 p.m.  We all ran outside, and Gordon was the first one to see it.  How amazed we all were.  A memory not forgotten.
