A combination...

... of natural symmetry, and wonderful spiral patterns, attracted me to this dahlia. It is one of the early blooms in this year's dahlia display at Harrogate Valley Gardens. 

The fact that the flower has not yet been damaged, by weather or insects, made it a good catch this morning, before the sun arrived.
