The Sea, The Sea (with apologies to Iris Murdoch)

Had another enjoyable day today. We took the bus to Torquay arriving in time for morning coffee which somehow stretched into lunch time - I love being on holiday!

We then spent some time pottering (and taking photos) and visited the local museum. They are holding an exhibition of Tom Adams art work at the moment. Adams illustrated, amongst other things, all the covers of the Agatha Christie books published by Fontana. A whole room was given over to each of his works of art plus a note from the artist as to his thinking. An excellent exhibition.

After tea we went down to the club house as they are holding Jazz Week here at the moment and a different group is appearing each night. Tonight was a New Orleans band which took us back to our honeymoon in the eighties when we visited the city as part of our USA tour.

Unfortunately there was no draught real ale on offer at the bar but I did have a pint of Korev, which I thought sounded Polish, until I discovered it was a Cornish lager brewed by St Austell Brewery; not too bad a drink, fruity and not too gassy, though I don't normally drink larger.

The photograph was taken this morning from the chalet balcony. The sun had risen and the whole sea was sparkling like it was littered with diamonds. A lone sail boat was heading towards the brightest part of the water, I thought it look a picture.
