Sun Setting

My leaving work has been a long slow goodbye.

This morning I said goodbye to many of my patients over tea and cake.
I've been somewhat overwhelmed by their kindness in many ways over the last few months as we've said goodbye after for many 27 years as their family doctor and this morning was that all over again.
It was important to me to honour those relationships as I move on to the next chapter of life.
It felt good to stop moving and trying to solve the next problem and just notice the weight grace of my time as the attending - (and being attended to).
