WHOSE FEET?

We were a select band of worshippers at Lawn Community Church this morning - I guess some are away and there are also several members of our congregation who are ill and others who have now moved to care homes - but we remember and pray for them all and wherever they are, they are still in God’s care.

Wasn’t quite sure what to do for a Blip today - we are going out soon to hear a viola and guitar concert, but not sure if any photographs will be allowed, so decided that I would take a few photographs during our service.

Our preacher today was our Elder, Susan, who is actually younger than most of the congregation - and after putting this on Blip, I will probably be “struck off” the membership list - but I just felt it was good to remind ourselves that she, along with others who faithfully preach each Sunday, is often the messenger who brings us the good news.  The service was led by her husband Keith, but I couldn’t take any photographs of him because I was standing beside him, singing in the Worship Group.

So here are the feet of our messenger this morning, bringing us the good news that “All is well” and reminding us that we can learn many things about worship from Psalm 63 - and you can see her 7 points in the extra photograph.

Just for Susan, here is her favourite quote:

“WORSHIP…..
     all that we are…..
responding to all that God is…..”
John Drane :
McDonaldization of the Church

Here is the quote Susan finished with - and you will see a tuning fork in the extra photograph:

“Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow.
So one hundred worshipers met together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be, were they to become 'unity' conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship.”
