Texel

Huge day trip driving and ferry crossing to the Isle of Texel, and the weather was absolutely stunning. This man sat on some stairs in one of the quietest outdoor places I've ever been to and spooled yarns to all that passed him. We saw an large jellyfish pass right under the dock below us, as well as hundreds of crabs in the shallow waters.

We walked to the top of the lighthouse and looked out over perfect white sand to where the North Sea meets the Wadden Sea. The view was framed through the lighthouse window.

An outdoor museum had many interesting things found from the shipwrecks occurring around the is over the centuries and gave an insight into Isle life many decades ago. I also found a sculpture of a man with blue hair, made from various bits and pieces found in the sea that reminded me of my husband. He's carrying a heavy load which is what he's doing right now, keeping our family running while I holiday.

Lovely dinner on the way home looking over the yacht haven. Definitely time for shower and bed!
