A thief in the night
As I lay in bed trying to breath with a cold that started shortly after getting home from my soccer game tonight (see yesterday's post), I could hear odd sounds from the shed. It sounded like something big walking around kicking empty cans and rustling tarps. I turned the spotlights on, but didn't see any thing out of the ordinary. Then I heard the noise again and realized that whatever it was, it was behind the tarp and in the shed. So...I scrounged around for something to throw at the tarp, as I wasn't going to go anywhere near it for fear of what might be on the other side. I finally settled on can of soup that no one likes. I tossed it, hit the tarp and scared two moose out of the shed.
They've been eating the horse's hay and making a huge mess, so Mr. P put up the tarps, hoping that they wouldn't want to go near them. Evidently, tarps aren't scary enough, as after I threw the can and chased them out, they were back in 10 minutes.
It is cold, and they probably are very hungry, but moose can starve on a diet of hay. Not the right nutrients for them.
Poor beasties.
