The Dirty Angel

Fondly known by Warrnambool residents as The Dirty Angel due the seemingly improper pose of the statue when viewed side-on, this memorial, located at the top end of Liebig Street, recognises the services of our war veterans. The monument was erected in 1925 and is made of red granite and Italian marble. While its nickname may strike some as irreverent, the locals are proud of their unique tribute, which has become an icon of the city.
