The Mighty Merloe
First across the finish line for Transpac 2017 is the multihull "Mighty Merloe"! This is right before she crossed at Diamond Head, the buoy is out of the foto to the right. This shows her flying as she probably has been for at least a few days at 20+ knots. She's tied up right in front of Hawaii Yacht Club in Ala Wai Harbour, for her first-to-finish honours, altho don't know whether she'll be moved elsewhere, as she does take up quite a bit of room in the channel.
Am very disappointed in the turnout to welcome her.
Extra will give you an idea of how wide she is. She will moor off the floating dock in front of the green&white vertical striped awnings at Hawaii Yacht Club.
Here's the link to Transpac 2017 in case you missed it.
Phaedo3 looks like she's in, as well. She must have been flying too as her previous ETA was 4 hours later. Think she finished just before 8PM tonite. I went home thinking I had plenty of time to get back by 11:35PM. Darn it! Maserati (multihulled) expected in just after midnite.
First monohull Comanche is expected in tomorrow around 10AM.
