Adventures with Audrey
Really getting into this 'massive pram walk and a spot of lunch' routine. Although having said that, I nearly put off today's excursion as Audrey had a massive meltdown this morning - purple, screaming, inconsolable. Could not fathom was wrong for the life of me. But decided not to let it spoil my day. Calpol, nap then popped her in the pram. She seemed fine after that!
Today's adventure was a pram walk to Stretford and then the tram to Altrincham and up into the posh Cheshire village of Hale for lunch. Was remarkably straightforward and made me realise how close Cheshire is.
Hale is beautiful, yet very Waggy. Full of white Range Rovers and blow drys. I find it quite intimidating. And as for the Cheshire Mums, they are another level....all high heels and manicures. Must be exhausting.
Did a spot of shopping and had lunch in a coffee place which was full of babies so we felt quite at home. Audrey seemed content on my lap, propped up looking round. Popped into a baby boutique on the way home and bought her a few bits. I couldn't care less what I wear at the moment, but am loving buying her stuff. It's a slippery slope as she grows out of things so quickly!
Was quite a relief to return to Chorlton and wheel back round my familiar, laid back streets after Cheshire's glossiness. Took this blip pic of a row of terraces and cobbles glistening after the afternoon's sun and showers.
My friend Laura popped over when we got back for a brew and a natter. She has a little boy so we laid them on the rug together to play. It was so strange seeing them all grown up; when it only seemed five minutes ago that we were both waddling around pregnant. Life moves fast these days.
