The Cottage with Alexander

I try to capture this image at least once a year. It's what I call to mind on a grim late January day on the Lanarkshire Massif!

To put it in context, that is an upstairs window; I am 5'5" tall and standing on the ground looking up to the roses of a 10 foot Alexander. No matter how hard - how viciously - I prune, to the point I think I'll have killed the thing, back it comes to a silly height;  but lovely
