Cranes

Taken in the heart of Newcastle.  The site was formerly known as Newgate Street Shopping Centre.   Originally built in 1969 It had become very run down over the years so has been demolished and is going to be replaced by student accommodation, a hotel and shops.  There are several other areas in Newcastle that need to be revamped as well.

There are some lovely old buildings in Newcastle built by Richard Grainger, John Dobson etc.  in the 19th century etc. that are much more stylish and better built than the buildings put up 50 years ago.
