Castle Dairy
A very overdue catch up with Ali and Malcolm. A chance to try out Castle Dairy restaurant in Kendal. It was flooded in 2015 and only got opened a couple of months ago.
The Castle Dairy is Kendal’s oldest inhabited building, built in the early part of the 14th century. For many years, the building was a restaurant, but this closed in 2007 and the building fell into disrepair. It was included on Historic England's heritage at risk register in 2010.
The Castle Dairy reopened in October 2011, with the ceremony performed by historian David Starkey, who grew up in the town. The Castle Dairy now operates as an art gallery and a College-run restaurant, with food prepared by Kendal College hospitality students.
The food was utterly amazing. Go visit if in Kendal.
