the protectors

Tonight a cat was seen lunging and pawing at the guinea pig's cage. The girls were not amused and chased it away down the street. My eldest feeling it was enough of an emergency to not even stop to find shoes.

I just watched the whole thing play unfold outside the kitchen window, camera near by in case one of the spectacular rainbows of late made an appearance. I just love their urgency to protect what they love. Little parents/mothers they already are!
