Bouquets of love.
In a nursing home in Ashburton, Devon, UK, 70 years ago today, my mother was in labour, 12,000 miles from home and her own mother and sisters, giving birth to me(!) which could go some way to explaining why my grandmother seems to greet me every morning in the mirror...
15 months later my English father who had grown up at Holland House in Kensington(son of the chauffeur to Lord and Lady Ilchester) and my Kiwi mother (both veterans of the Royal New Zealand Airforce) sailed back to New Zealand. How favoured we are to live life in this beautiful and safe country , sometimes labelled the land of milk and honey.
These beautiful flowers arrived today from my loving daughter Sarah.
