Mississippi Crack
Climbing with J at Windgather again... no, I don't mind going there, but it's a long way and today the traffic was terrible. I waited in the queue at Markeaton roundabout in Derby for a good 15 minutes before I could get over and onto the A52 proper. If there's a problem on the A38, which crosses the A52 at this point, the A38 traffic just continues to try and barge their way across, totally oblivious to the fact that they're completely blocking the roundabout. In the end you just have to force your way through while they're going slowly but before they actually stop. Aaarrgghh!! I'm sure it's an offence to block a roundabout... but I suppose that's enough complaining.
J's husband came along to take photos, which was good, and it was nice to meet him and put a face to a name.
This is Mississippi Crack S, which I did on a top rope last year and then seconded it last Sunday... so it seemed right to actually lead it. I know I've got loads of gear on my harness, most of it unnecessary, but I haven't yet learned how to look at a route and assess what I need to carry.
I took a different route home, taking the A515 from Ashbourne down to the A50, which is very close to where I live.
