Poles Apart
I've no idea what this pole is doing here. It's on land at Little Haldon which, back in the 20s and thirties and up until WW2, was used as a civil airfield. I don't suppose it dates back to then, there's been a lot of heather burning since then, but I think it might mark an old runway which is still used and kept clear by a model aircraft club.
It was the heather that I wanted to photograph, of course. I did a similar shot a few days ago but it's looking so spectacular at the moment it's worth another blip. I expect it will qualify for Flower Friday hosted by BikerBear. There's an optional link with your blip name or journal name. With all the heather and gorse I think this could be said to be a RoughArea :)
