Freshwater crayfish

My brother took us out for a lovely lunch today, and then we came home to sunbathe and swim before a friend called round with half a bucket of live crayfish which his neighbour had caught this morning!
Much to mum's horror, one jumped out of the bucket and was chased across the kitchen by the dogs before I rescued it! Then I boiled a pan of water and popped them in for a few minutes before draining, cooling and shelling them, while Mr F made a sauce, and we had crayfish cocktail served in a shot glass ( except mum who wouldn't touch them!)
