John plays us a tune....
Another glorious day here...made a big load of teapots!
This is Terry's old friend John, from his days on Cape Cod. they have known each other since early childhood.....not really kept so closely in touch, but a few months ago John contacted Terry to book a week at the A cabin! Turns out he has a cancerous brain tumor......so he wanted to spend a bit of time here, in the quiet, playing music and having some peace and quiet! We've had some amazing discussions, as you can do if you are willing to, with someone who is very much having to face their mortality! what a mind blowing thing it is to talk with him. He is doing a very new therapy, in very uncharted waters. He has 4 large electrode pads on his head, attached to a battery outfit......they send constant signals throw his brain, and the plan is that this type of electromagnetic stuff keeps the tumor from increasing! It's not clear as to how well this therapy is working - but John has a very honest way of talking about his experience.
A very random item: he mentioned he had identical twin girls....so of course we exchanged stories...his are about 23 years old....and then he lets it slip that one is named Morgan....too bizarre i thought!
anyway, after supper out on the back porch, for as long as we could stand the bugs...we retired to the living room and John gave us a bit of a concert. He was joined by our present wwoofer, Anna on the guitar. She was pretty wonderful! Life is so full and rich at times....and keeps me constantly grateful and aware of how fragile this life really is!
and i've finally got the wedding back blips up...if you'd like to see them...they start here .
