The Bell

The annual Blessing of the Fleet today at Nelson Habour.  A gorgeous day - 12degC - not a cloud in the sky, no breeze.  It was a lovely service.  The fish and chips were good and so was the free pottle of ice-cream to go with them.  A good crowd.  The bell was tolled ten times today for the ones who had died at sea over the past year - three from the Nelson region - which isn't too bad, I guess, seeing we are the biggest commercial fishing port in the Southern Hemisphere.
