Sound Mirrors

I have wanted to see these close up since we moved here and as there is an open day but once a year from 10-3, this year it was in my diary so as not to miss it!

Built in the 1930s to detect enemy aircraft by sound they are now protected. I have added a couple of extras, one of the three of them taken as we walked (much further than I had thought) from the other side of the lake and another that gives the history and facts.

I took some photos too of wild flowers that we passed and also got one of an egret way across the lake as we walked back in the rain!

A good day. Off to James tomorrow who has now said they will cook dinner for us too!
