Allotmatherapy
The day started out a bit grumpy, but a family trip to the allotment in the rain helped a lot. I had expert help sorting out my tomato sideshoots, inexpert help pulling shallots and digging potatoes and more help doing a bit of weeding.
All good so far - the raspberries and blackberries keep giving, there seems to be two types of delicious red gooseberries, we're on one or two giant strawberries a day, we're good for kale and courgette season will soon be upon us (the first one grew downwards and rotted a bit). There are even small carrots and bigger onions than I've ever managed.
These purple mangetout have been a bit disappointing. They taste nice but haven't produced much. They're on the way out already.
In the afternoon: a trip to the DIY shop courtesy of the Car Club. New power tools and other ancillaries. All we need now is time and energy.
