Light Vessel 21
A magazine Photoshop project to create a dramatic fine-art image saw me heading down to Gravesend Town Pier to see whether there was a suitable subject to have a try. Moored up was the LV21, a light vessel built in 1963, and the last to be commissioned by Trinity House. She mainly operated off the Kent Coast along Goodwin Sands, and was withdrawn from service in 2008.
I normally do most of my post-processing in Lightroom, but had a go with the techniques in the magazine - I now know a lot more about how to use layers, and the the image is certainly more dramatic than the original with its bland grey skies!
