Flume Trail

Denver -> Omaha -> Valentine -> Rapid City -> Lead

Today was the landing point, and the official start of my vacation. Went hiking with the 'rents before driving the rest of the way up to the lodge. This is an old mining tunnel through which the hiking trail runs. We had a false start at the beginning of this hike because our intended trailhead had been closed due to a fire that took out the area. Apparently the Black Hills had/are having the same fire issues as the rest of the West.

When we got the the lodge, my bikes - which traveled across three states on the roof of my car - had managed to pick up an astounding amount of 'bug splat'. First step - clean the bikes and unpack. Second step - hot tub with a beer!

Horray for vacation! If only Andy were here instead of up in Alaska.
