Purple tatties

Today's mystery crop is purple potatoes.  These are a fabulous deep purple colour when cut open, but in the ground they look black and  are very hard to spot so when I dig them up I always miss a couple of little ones which hide away to sprout again next year. . They make delicious purple chips but for some reason I just don't fancy them mashed.   Tonight I am making them into Bombay potatoes with spinach and tomatoes so it should be a very colourful dish.
