The View From The Cockpit.
Spending the day at the National Museum of Flight to gain first-hand experience of aircraft restoration and conservation at the museum.
One of the day's duties was to inspect the condition of the cockpit of the Avro Vulcan on static display. This fifty-four year old V-Bomber has been with the Museum since 1984, after seeing active service with the Royal Air Force.
In 1982 this aircraft took part in the Falklands War in Operation Black Buck; one of two Vulcans to see combat in the sixty-four years that the aircraft was in operational service as part of the United Kingdom 'a nuclear deterrent.
