Nowa Hutta
We started today with another excellent breakfast followed by a river boat trip for some of us. Others went to the salt mines.
There was not a lot to see on the river, but it was a pleasant trip. At the end there was a cloud burst. We donned our waterproofs but waited on the boat, and the rain stopped.
A few of us went for coffee. Then I travelled solo to Nova Hutta, an estate of communist built flats. They were so like the ones that Julie and I saw in St. Petersburg that I could not tell the difference!
What was different was the church built by Karol Wojtyla, Pope Jean Paul II. It is a modern church with beautiful stained glass. I stayed for a mass and two christenings.
Tonight a few of us went to a nearby Polish restaurant. The food was excellent, yet again.
Tomorrow we travel on to Zakopane.
