Bouncing Putty!!!

Today, just for funsies, we made bouncy putty! This tractable polymeric substance is made from dichlorodimethylsilane, which was hydrolysed by water and then subsequently condensed and polymerised. The bounciness is due to the way the long polymer chains slide around each other under an applied force such as gravity. I coloured mine in with vivid to make it pretty :D
