Broomhouse Let's Color 2012

Photo of completed mural wall part of a large scale public art project in Broomhouse organised by the Broomhouse Health Strategy Group . The mural wall and the painting of the entire shopping centre (5 shop fronts ) as well as the service entry walls were painted using designs by local Young People from the Broomhouse area in West Edinburgh. The project was funded by Dulux as part of there worldwide Let's Colour Project http://www.letscolourproject.com

The prepartion work and painting work was carried out by a team of over 80 volunteers aging from 12 to 70 years old and took 2 weeks to complete.

The artworks have brought some colour into what was a very run down and dilapidated area very much in need of a somthing uplifting.

This project really shows what can be done if people get involved in there local area and make something positive happen.
