Demolition in the sunshine
We had a very busy - and exhausting - day today. Mr A came with me to work this morning on the bus (this is snapped from the top of the number 7 as it was waiting at the lights at the top of Leith Street) and we worked non stop to empty my office. Most stuff was stowed (or re-stowed in cardboard boxes awaiting uplift and a minimum 12 months storage). Quite a bit of stuff was put in paper recycling bags. And a small amount of stuff - mainly some books - was put in bags and boxes to come home. The task was complicated by the fact that I had to review some stuff that was already in boxes (which related to a project that had its own office for 5 years). Around mid afternoon, as we started to see the light at the end of the tunnel, Mr A headed back here to collect the car, and we packed everything that was coming home in the boot and headed home by 5pm (collecting some beer on the way). We couldn't believe how quickly we had done it, as I had mentally set aside the whole week for the job. Although we managed it in one day last time, it felt like it took longer, and it was - in many ways - more complicated this time. Tomorrow we need to start looking at repacking some stuff that needs to go into storage from here for the year, and start the process of thinking about what we are taking with us.
The end of an era. And all on probably one of the nicest days of the year, weatherwise.
