Personal best
When our grandsons ran track and cross-country in high school, they aimed to set a personal best in every event. We heard the term again when our younger granddaughter participated on the swim team, but once the kids finished school and were no longer involved in competitive sports, the concept of "personal best" became less important. Until now! But when a person has experienced a serious health crisis like Bob did with the quadruple bypass last month, they become determined to get better by living a heart-healthy lifestyle. At that point, "personal best" once more becomes very important. Bob's determination to regain his strength and stamina is amazing, and today he achieved a personal best in post-surgery trail walking. You can read more about it on my blog.
