Perfectly French

Had a lovely wander around Candes St Martin, arrived in time for lunch at the only restaurant, located right in front of the church. Menu was fixed price, no choice but absolutely fabulous. The lady in black leaning against the window was our friendly waitress, having a break. After climbing up to the viewpoint to see across the valley, we wandered around the historic church, site of the death of St Martin and a site for pilgrims for over 1,000 years, and were offered a short tour by a young priest in training, one of several who are spending the summer there.

Extras are of the street leading to a viewpoint, Mhairi checking out a vine growing on the side of a house on the Main Street, and a cave full of mushrooms!
