Hill Top Ramblings

Little and Large

These two were snuffling about around the hen house. We always have some hedgehogs, and these may be the descendants of one we rescued from a terrible death. The poor thing was actually glued to the ground at Gait Barrows by a huge amount of slug slime. It was only a baby and obviously chose the wrong type for supper! It had fly eggs around its face and its mouth was glued shut. We brought it home and cleaned it up, and fed it with copious amounts of cat food. It grew at an amazing rate and so we decided to move it into one of the pet rabbits runs for a little more space. The next morning it was gone! It had dug its way out! There's gratitude.
That was many years ago but I hope it's children are still safely here.
