Maple Sugar
Yep, we’re dog sitting our granddog while her family goes on vacation to the East coast to see their other grandparents and cousins. Both H and I grew up with dogs and had our Irish setter almost until we moved to the condo, but that is 30 years ago! We’ve not done this before, but she loves it here and it will avoid the kennel costs (and cough she caught last time there) so we’ll see how this goes..... Maple is used to living with 2 children (Tatum and Fiona) and 2 cats and her “Mom” always took her running around the whole island when she is here. Every morning. We won’t be doing that. :-) I hope she can get enough exercise —-we’re told Vizslas need to run 20 miles a day. She fortunately doesn’t like to be out of sight of people (velcro dog) so runs ahead and back, ahead and back to us slow old ones covering maybe 4-5 times what we do,. She let us have a leisurely breakfast in bed before her walk so one can’t complain!
So I will be practicing pet photography for something different for me...… ha….
My favorite from today... on our morning “walk” running in the dry grass……you can appreciate how dry the islands are..
Report: Our well water has cleared some more but still not to drink. We are using it in the house for everything else tho, so not so bad… The clay filter is on order…and now we're wondering...
A bit of a slow time for the 3 of us now will be good --trying to take a nap every day to try to rid myself of this pesty virus bronchitis that's slow to leave. Got up at 1:30 looking for the anticipated aurora borealis last night but didn't see it...should have spent the night on the dock.....did anyone in WA or BC?
