Design classic
Like the Coke bottle and the Marmite jar, I always think of the Quink ink bottle as a design classic. I unearthed this little half-empty beauty when going through one of the cupboards at work during the ongoing saga of the relocation clearout.
Gaps are starting to appear where there were once desks, chairs and storage units but my delight of today was when I found a man with a van who will take away our mountain of black binliners of doom. It's unbelievable the amount of crud that accumulates.
And as for the surplus furniture, the local branch of Emmaus - a charity that works with homeless people - would love to take it off our hands but aren't able to collect in the timescale that we are working to so I'm hoping that another charity with similar aims will be able to benefit.
Other interesting finds include:
- several packets of flower seeds
- about a dozen badges with pictures of cats leaping from springboards
- a bottle of beer with a personalised label saying 'The Guild' on it
- a miniature Crunchie bar which I ate. I then saw that the wrapper had a best before date of 2004 on it.
