Zemun, view towards Belgrade

Two photos:

Zemun is a suburb twenty minutes bus-ride away from central Belgrade; it is to the west of the city, on the southern bank of the Danube.  The spire is that of St Nicholas, built in 1731 and with a casket containing what are claimed to be relics of St Andrew.

Zemun is famed for its food restaurants, so my SECOND PHOTO is devoted to a plate of what is variously called Sander, pike-perch, Zander or (in Serbian) smudj.  It is in my opinion the very best freshwater fish, but it is not to be found anywhere in the UK.
