Normandy Road Trip Day 9!!
After our late night, and with not far to drive to the ferry home, we took our time packing up camp for the last time (we’re not the tidiest campers as you can see!), before heading to the supermarket to stock up on French goodies to take home, including cheese, cider and wine (just the 30 bottles!!).
With two hours to spare, we went for a last wander around Bayeux and the cathedral, and a last glass of Normandy cider, before heading to Ouistreham for the ferry home. As is always the way, our last afternoon in France was the sunniest and hottest that it had been all week, sailing away from France felt like being on a Mediterranean cruise ship! Six hours later, and one final chocolate mousse and glass of rosé wine later, we arrived in Portsmouth and, with little traffic on the road, were home shortly after midnight…
(My second backblip posted today, and my final backblip of the trip… Now I’ve just got to catch up with your journals! Oh, and the last couple of days back home!!)
